Benji McLain: Benji, a passionate band director with a love for music and adventure, grew up in Hattiesburg, MS, and was introduced to music in sixth grade. He quickly fell in love with the sound of the euphonium and began taking lessons. As he grew older, Benji’s passion for music only continued to grow, and he knew he wanted to pursue a career in the field.

Benji has a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Mississippi and a Master of Music Education from William Carey University. He has been teaching music for 19 years and has led his bands to win several awards and competitions. But Benji is not content to just stay in one place. He also loves to travel and experience new adventures. His love of travel came from numerous trips in high school and touring with world-class drum and bugle corps as a performer and staff member.

In his free time, Benji and his wife, Dana, love to explore new places and travel when time permits. They have gone on road trips across the United States and have a desire to do more traveling when they both retire. They are both avid Disney/Universal travelers and are always looking forward to the next adventure.
